Huw is a jazz musician and composer who began doing improvised theatre in her late 20s, over 10 years ago. A regular member of the Tokyo English-language improv scene, she’s performed in many different contexts including the Tokyo Comedy Store’s monthly Improvazilla show, and studied with Keith Johnstone, Shawn Kinley, Rob Adler, Chris Wells and Jun Imai. Her own teaching experience began as the leader of weekly workshops and monthly intensives for the In The Moment program, from 2013 to 2019, and for the Sullivans School yearly MIMe day. Huw has also created and taught her own workshops, most notably Music for Humans, which brings together improv theatre techniques with music-making. She continues to be active in various ways as a musician and improvising actor in Tokyo.
