Hailing from super sunny Singapore, Aisha Johari is a huge nerd and a keen lover of the arts. From Traditional Malay Dance to Debate, Aisha is a no stranger to the stage. It was landing a role in her secondary school’s adaptation of Hairspray, however, that sealed her love for Theatre.

Deciding to boldly go where no one has gone before, she left her previous study in Psychology, and found herself in Tokyo. She has completed her bachelor’s degree, and is now taking respite in the creative grounds of YTG. Amidst all this, Aisha aspires to hopefully discover what it really means be a mere player in the play we call Life.

Aisha played Mrs Tanaka in The Peony Lantern, Emily Bronte in Wuthering Heights, and was a core member in development of 松風/Matsukaze. She also designed the poster for The Peony Lantern and Matsukaze. She contributed to rehearsals for the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Showcase and also designed the poster for that show.

太陽の降り注ぐシンガポール出身のアイシャ・ジョハリは、大のオタクで、芸術をこよなく愛する。マレー伝統舞踊からディベートまで、アイシャは舞台を知らないわけがない。しかし、中学校で上演された『ヘアスプレー』に出演したことが、彼女の演劇への情熱を封印するきっかけとなりました。

誰も行ったことのないところへ大胆に行こうと決心し、それまで学んでいた心理学から離れ、東京にたどり着きました。学士号を取得し、現在はYTGのクリエイティブな環境で休息を取っています。その中で、アイシャは、私たちが人生と呼ぶ演劇の単なるプレーヤーであることの本当の意味を発見することを望んでいます。

今作「牡丹燈籠」では田中さんの役の他にポスターの作成も務めた。前作の『嵐ヶ丘』ではエミリー・ブロンテ役を演じている。また、『牡丹燈籠』『松風』のポスターデザインも担当。
